Master's Degree - Non-thesis Option

Degree Requirements for the Non-Thesis
Option

Plan
of Study - the student must meet with his/her advisor to
formulate a plan of study. The plan of study must be submitted
after completing at least 9 but no more than 18 semester
credits.

Satisfactory
completion of 30 hours of approved graduate credits. At least 21
hours of courses must be in the ECE department.

If the student is pursuing the non-thesis
project option,
he or she must take up three credits of individualized project
that requires a written report and an oral presentation that
will be conducted by the student's advisory committee.

Alternately, the student may take
the non-thesis course-only option, in which the students
takes all 30 credits of course work. In this option, the
student is required to pass a written comprehensive exam.
The comprehensive exam is of 3 hours and consists of 4
questions, of which one is on
engineering mathematics and the other 3 are on
undergraduate
courses in electrical and computer engineering.

Admission
to candidacy - the admission to candidacy form must be completed
prior to the oral exam. The student should consult the schedule
of classes for deadlines on submitting this form for fall or
spring graduation.
